Through this post we are sharing the information of ‘Bhai Maharaj Singh Ji’. Bhai Maharaj Singh spent his last days in a Singapore Jail. And, Gurdwara Sahib was also built there in his memory. The secret messages in his writings that he sent to the Sikhs of Punjab. Those writings are unable to read by any scholar in the world. Those writings and some of their belongings are still in a museum in London. Although his writings are in ‘Gurmukhi’ language but scholars have not been able to understand their meaning till date.
An incident is from his life that, when ‘Diwan Mool Singh’ revolted against the Britishers, Maharaj Singh went there and firstly met the soldiers and asked, “Are you happy?” The soldiers said, “No matter we are happy or not or what we fight, we don’t get enough food.”
After that he saw the armory of that place but the soldier were not capable to fight the war against Britishers with the weapons they have. It means ‘Mool Raj’, who could not keep his soldiers happy so they could fight in the battlefield, and the king who could not give his soldiers the same weapons as the enemy, can never win the war. And, I do not want to fight this lost war, I’m going back.
After a time, when Maharaj Singh arrested by the British Soldiers, the British officer said that don’t keep him in Punjab. They sent him to Singapore by ship. The captain of the ship told them to open the hands and eyes of Maharaj Singh, when the ship reached the middle of the ocean. This type of rebellious warrior was Bhai Maharaj Singh, who became a soldier from saint.
